The following membership fees cover one year:
- General Membership: $50 (ages 22-40)
You can join at any time, and events are ongoing throughout the year. Activities include various networking socials, educational seminars, done-in-a-day community service projects and much more! Most events are "pay as you go", and YOU select the events that you want to attend. Members are encouraged to take an active role in determining the activities that are offered.

EMERGE Montgomery Committees
If you're an EMERGE Montgomery member and want to be more involved, why not join a committee? There are openings on all committees, just pick one!
Membership
- Responsible for the oversight of the EMERGE Montgomery membership. The committee shall work with the Leadership Montgomery office in maintaining the official database of members, including correct contact information and interests of each member. The committee is responsible for developing membership benefits, recruiting new members, and welcoming individuals at EMERGE events.
Development/Finance
- Responsible for preparing and monitoring the annual budget, while tracking and communicating the organization's financial status; helping to develop fundraising plans and strategies; and working closely with EMERGE Officers and Staff on budgetary and spending decisions.
Torchbearers Alumni
- Responsible for the development and oversight of the EMERGE Leadership Class. The committee shall work with the Leadership Montgomery Executive Director to develop the class curriculum, secure class speakers, and influence decisions that affect the development of the Leadership Class. The Committee shall also oversee the application and selection process of Leadership Class participants. The committee shall also plan social and leadership development activities for class alumni. This committee is only available to graduates of the Torchbearers Leadership classes.
Special Events
- Responsible for the development and oversight of EMERGE special events. The committee shall work closely with the Program Committee to identify venues to hold official EMERGE events. The committee is responsible for working with Leadership Montgomery in making all arrangements for EMERGE events including location, food, audio/visual needs and any other needs the program committee identifies that may be related to the event.
Marketing / Communications Committee
- Responsible for the development and oversight of EMERGE Montgomery logo; in developing and maintaining the EMERGE website; in developing marketing materials; in communicating and publicizing events to the media; and in working with the EMERGE membership. Perhaps most importantly, the committee is responsible for identifying new and unique ways to promote EMERGE Montgomery to young professionals that will encourage their involvement.
Programs
- Responsible for identifying programs of interest to young professionals, submitting suggestions for event speakers and developing a calendar of opportunities for EMERGE members to network and grow personally and professionally. The committee shall develop well-balanced, educational programs that appeal to, and are attended by, various segments of young professionals.
Public Affairs
- Responsible for keeping EMERGE members abreast of issues and initiatives that may impact Montgomery's young professionals, as well as educating young professionals on the importance of developing an interest in public affairs. Responsibilities also include communicating unbiased information on political developments and important information related to growth, development and changes in topics/issues that affect Montgomery.
Community Outreach
- Responsible for planning special hands-on, measurable projects that will impact Montgomery in a positive way. The Chairperson must work closely with Leadership Montgomery/EMERGE staff to facilitate and organize community service projects that will give EMERGE members and young professionals an opportunity to reinvest in the community.
